I initially gained knowledge in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, developing and optimizing DNA microarray technology in different thematic areas, such as the biomedical and agri-food sectors. I then gained experience in Genomics and Transcriptomics studies, applying high-throughput sequencing technologies (RNA-seq “in bulk” and at the single-cell level, WES, WGS, Target Resequencing and long-read sequencing) to multiple biomedical research contexts, such as neurodegenerative processes, neoplastic pathologies and rare genetic diseases. I also currently have management and scientific responsibility for the Genomic Research Infrastructure, within the ELIXIR x NextGeneration IT project. The experimental activities I carried out translated into participation in national and international research projects, interdisciplinary interactions with expert working groups, and publications in relevant industry journals, many of which were by first and last authors.

Long-read sequencing analyses in genomic studies (transcriptional isoforms, complex splicing and structural variants)

Transcriptomic analysis of cancer cells, stem cells, organoids, human and murine tissues in disease models

Sample and library preparation for high-throughput sequencing (bulk, single-cell, small and non-coding RNAs)

Long-read sequencing analyses in transcriptomic studies (transcriptional isoforms, complex splicing and structural variants)
