Medical imaging
The Medical Imaging research line focuses on the development, optimization, and evaluation of bioengineering methods for processing bioimages. Specifically, research activities in ITB face the extraction of image-based biomarkers through AI approaches for the development of classification and prediction models in subjects affected by diseases.

Processing and analysis of medical images to identify quantitative image-based biomarkers (radiomics), supporting tissue characterization and data-driven predictive models.
Development of deep learning algorithms for medical image segmentation, with a focus on uncertainty quantification and robustness assessment.
