“My research activity lies in the field of computer science applied to the Life Sciences, with particular focus on the development of technological solutions supporting biology and microbiology. Over the years, I have contributed to the design and implementation of algorithmic methods and digital infrastructures aimed at the study of organisms and microorganisms, facilitating the analysis, management, and interpretation of complex biological data. I have developed interdisciplinary skills ranging from bioinformatics to high-performance computing, from artificial intelligence to research infrastructure management, as well as the modeling, integration, and representation of big data derived from biological samples. At an institutional level, I hold a position of responsibility within the Italian national node of the European Research Infrastructure for Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources (BBMRI-ERIC), recognized as a landmark by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). Within BBMRI.it, I serve as the contact point for the Common Service IT, a strategic structure providing highly specialized IT support to the biobanks associated with the national network. Since 2025, I have also been a member of the BBMRI.it Steering Committee, contributing to the definition of operational strategies and the development of the National Node of the BBMRI-ERIC research infrastructure.”

Development of bioinformatics tools for Big Data analysis.

Application of advanced statistical methods, machine learning, deep learning, explainable AI (XAI), and data mining for predicting pathological mechanisms, identifying disease biomarkers and supporting patient stratification.

Development, application and optimization of automated pipelines for the analysis of genomics, epigenomics and transcriptomics data for large-scale studies.

Development and implementation of databases/portals

Management and harmonization of biomedical data through organization, curation, and integration of heterogeneous health and research datasets into standardized formats.

Processing and analysis of medical images to identify quantitative image-based biomarkers (radiomics), supporting tissue characterization and data-driven predictive models.
