The MU.S.A. project aims at investigating how cognitive performance is modulated by an intervention based on cognitive and motor stimulation (the Train the Brain intervention) in aged, cognitively impaired human subjects (MCI subjects) and the association between the subjects’ cognitive performance and key inflammatory parameters. Within MU.S.A., the ITB evaluates the impact of a cognitive intervention on outcomes related to Subjective Cognitive Decline and/or Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) in a cohort of individuals aged 65 years or older. The cohort is characterized using an epidemiological questionnaire (demographic, clinical, and social characteristics, habits, and lifestyle factors) and plasma biomarkers, including Aβ40, Aβ42, tau, tau 217, and NFL. The activities of MU.S.A. project complement the studies within InVat – RADAR project, as part of the initiative to address active and healthy aging.
