research line

Regenerative medicine and tissue engineering

This research line aims to develop innovative regenerative approaches that combine stem cells, engineered biomaterials, and 3D‑built tissues. It also involves producing vascularized, functional tissue constructs intended for translational research and speeding the path of regenerative technologies into clinical practice.

Research Activities

Design of next-generation regenerative strategies integrating stem cells, functional biomaterials and 3D modelling to restore structure and function in damaged cardiac and skeletal muscle tissues

Engineering of vascularized and functional tissue constructs for translational and preclinical applications, with the aim of accelerating the transfer of regenerative technologies toward clinical use

Reprogramming of human somatic cells to generate clinically relevant 3D organoid models for studying aging, autoimmune disorder and cancer through manipulation of organelle and endosome systems that accurately reflect disease states
