ITB-CNR Unit provides its expertise to explore how exposome affects human beings, studying the response capacity towards an inflammatory status and underlying molecular mechanisms that connect environmental factors with human health. In detail, the Unit supports the Project with: 1. Gut and Respiratory Microbiome characterization by metagenomics and metabolomics to clarify their composition, structure and functions, 2. evaluation of the patterns of disease occurrences in human populations and the identification of the factors that influence these patterns by cross-sectional, longitudinal or cohort studies, case-control studies, clinical and intervention trials and translational research, 3. extensive epidemiological analysis for exploring the relationship between exposures and the different endpoints of interest
